My main focus is to capture your pet's personality and essence in a work of art.

A fine art pet portrait is an investment that you can be proud to display in your home with other art work. As an accomplished artist, my pet portraits are contemporary yet are painted in the traditional manner using acrylic paints… unlike other pet portrait artists who digitally produce their work on a computer.

As a pet portrait artist, I rely on your stories of your pet, his likes and dislikes, why and how they are important, and anything else that come to mind, to complete the visual image.

My Experience as an Artist

As a dog portrait artist, I consider myself fortunate to be able to combine my love of animals in my art work. During a particularily difficult time in my life, my dog became my constant companion and was the source of my inspiration and healing, my muse. It gave me so much joy that I wanted to share it... The Canvas Dog Studio was born out of this desire... To look at a painting and lovingly remember this bond ... in a piece of fine art.

As a professional artist with 30 years experience, I have worked in various media from large ceramic sculptures to drawings and paintings. My work has been exhibited in galleries in Canada and the USA, with private clients in Canada, USA, and Europe.

I have a Masters Degree in Studio Arts,and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. I have taught studio fine arts at Eastern Michigan University, University of Toronto, Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Ann Arbor Art Association.
