About the Artist

At The Canvas Dog Studio, it is a world where dogs meet art, Nina's two most favourite passions.

Colourful and expressive, her paintings speak of her unusual ability to connect with her canine subjects, be it in person or through owner supplied photographs.

"I like to hear the things you really love about your pet. Those unique qualities come through in your finished portrait.
Couch potato or whirling dervish? IF possible, I like to meet with you and your pet - to get a sense of your relationship and what your pet is really like.

Some of my custom portraits are memorials, paintings of pets who've passed away, so I rely on the owners to share memories - their favorite toys, personality quirks - to capture them on canvas."

Artist's Experience

"My muse and inspiration, Cisco, gives me so much joy that I want to share it... The Canvas Dog Studio was born out of this desire... To look at a painting and capture this bond ... in a piece of fine art.

"I just can't resist Cisco's expressive playful gestures. It is the spirit and personality of an animal and the process of painting that speaks to me."

As a professional artist for over 20 years, Nina has exhibited her art work, taught fine arts to adults and children, and painted murals. Her work can be found in many private collections in Canada and the United States.

With a Masters Degree in Studio Arts,and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, she has taught studio fine arts at Eastern Michigan University, University of Toronto, Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Ann Arbor Art Association.
